Spreadsheet cards answer “ballpark item price.” Your bank account pays a chain. This page is a worksheet method. Every numeric example is hypothetical — swap in live figures from your screen.

Full worksheet — five finds, three sellers (hypothetical)

Scenario: you shortlist five spreadsheet finds that collapse into three sellers after verification.

SellerGoods (¥)Domestic est. (¥)Subtotal (¥)
A — hoodie + tee220 + 80 = 30018318
B — jeans19015205
C — sneakers42025445
Goods + domestic968

Apply your live fee structure. For illustration only, suppose the screen shows “5% of payable goods basket + ¥2 fixed” (replace with reality):

5% × 968 = ¥48.4 → + ¥2 → ¥50.4 service.
Bill 1 CNY ≈ ¥1,018.4 before channel surcharge.

Convert with on-screen FX:

  • FX 7.2 → ≈ $141.4
  • FX 6.1 → ≈ $166.9 (≈ $25.5 more for the same basket)

Then add channel surcharge (example: +4% on the USD debit). At FX 6.1: $166.9 × 1.04 ≈ $173.6 leaving your card/wallet for Bill 1 alone.

Spreadsheet cards might have summed to “about $130.” The gap is not a scam by default — it is unread domestic legs + fee/FX + channel. Bill 2 (freight) is still unpaid.

Multi-seller domestic stacking

Consolidation saves international base fees. It does not erase China-side domestic. Ten sellers can mean ten domestic charges into Shenzhen even if international is one box later. When two finds share one shop, prefer ordering them together if the listing allows — one domestic is better than two.

How to compare payment methods (fair test)

  1. Fix the CNY need

Write the CNY total you must cover (goods + domestic + expected service). Do not change the basket mid-test.

  2. Run each rail to the final screen

Note FX, % fee, fixed fee, and the final debit or credited balance.

  3. Pick the cheaper final

A “0% crypto fee” with worse FX can lose to PayPal. A “low FX” with a brutal card fee can lose to bank transfer. Finals only.

Bill 2 — do not guess freight here

International shipping waits for warehouse measurement. Budget a buffer using category intuition, then refine on the live quote. Worked volumetric math: shipping guide. Coupons, when present in your account, usually apply at parcel pay — check expiry before you assume the discount.

Rough planning buffers (not quotes) for a mixed haul after Bill 1 is paid — adjust for your lane’s $/kg:

Haul shapeWhy Bill 2 surprises peoplePlanning habit
2× sneakers boxed + hoodieCarton height from boxes → volumetric ≫ scaleDecide box-in/out before first quote
3× hoodies, no shoesLight scale, fluffy volumeAsk compression rules before paying freight
Jeans + tees onlyUsually friendlier volumeStill reserve for base fee + fuel if listed

Top-up strategy that does not strand you

  • Top up for purchases you will place in the next few days.
  • Keep a written Bill-2 reserve outside that number.
  • After QC rejects, reclaim budget — do not auto-fill with random new finds to “use the balance.”
  • Photograph the FX/fee screen once per top-up session for your own records.

FAQ

Can I trust a screenshot of someone else’s 4.4% fee?+

As history, maybe. As your payable amount, no. Fee %, fixed charges, FX and coupons change. Copy numbers only from your logged-in payment step.

Should international shipping be in my first top-up?+

Keep a separate buffer. Freight depends on measured carton size after QC. Topping up “enough for everything” without a volume guess usually still under-shoots bulky hauls.

Domestic shipping showed ¥0 on the listing — free?+

Maybe for that seller threshold, maybe not for your option/qty, maybe not after the agent’s purchase. Always re-check the order preview line before paying.
